How Metabolic health is key to aging well

People are living longer today than ever. As they live longer, they also get sicker. Despite making great progress in medical science, it is becoming more apparent that our current approach to medicine is not working.

We have to change how we see health and aging. For healthy aging, it is important to look at metabolic well-being - not just weight reduction but overall wellbeing.

Your metabolism must be strong and healthy to ensure you live an active lifestyle for many years to come.

The good news is that there are many ways to improve your metabolic health. These 7 foods can be incorporated into your diet.

  1. Resveratrol is a component of blueberries that has been proven to improve cellular longevity. They are also rich in vitamins C & E and antioxidants.
  2. Pinto beans and lentils are great sources of fiber and plant-based proteins. These nutrients help to keep blood sugar levels constant so they don't spike and crash.
  3. Broccoli contains the antioxidant sulforaphane. This has been shown in studies to protect DNA. It may even be able to slow down cancer progression.
  4. Chia Seeds are high-in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and other nutrients. They're also loaded with antioxidants and protein. All these nutrients support heart health, brain function and gut health.
  5. Green Tea has polyphenols called catechins. Green tea's catechins have been linked with reduced bone fractures as well as cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, dementia, and increased diabetes risk.
  6. Salmonis high in protein and rich in vitamin D is one of the most popular sources of lean proteins.
  7. Walnuts are high in omega-3s. They also contain antioxidants like alphalipoic Acid (ALA). ALA helps boost energy production and protects against inflammation.

Is Cardio Better Than Strength Training?

Both are equally excellent. For those who want to gain muscle quicker, cardio is a better choice.

Cardio burns more calories per minute than strength training and burns more fat.

Although strength training can increase muscle mass, it is more difficult than cardio to do so.

How many times per week should I exercise

It all depends upon how much time you have and what type or exercise you prefer. The general rule of thumb is to exercise aerobically 3 - 5 days per week. Don't go overboard. To get the best results from your exercise, it is important to be consistent.

Which exercises are best for me?

It all depends upon your fitness goals. Some people are more focused on endurance activities such as running, cycling and swimming. Some people enjoy lifting weights and using resistance bands. There are many exercise programs on the market today. Pick the option that fits your needs.

What is the best exercise for men over 40 years old?

The best workout for older men usually increases energy and stamina.

It is important to note that most people over 40 experience a loss of testosterone in their bodies, resulting in lower sex drive.

However, this doesn't mean you cannot still enjoy physical activity. Research has shown that exercise regularly can increase testosterone in men.

So, if you want to improve your sexual performance, you can start with an aerobics routine.
